The stars were already out by the time the dogs dispersed away from the tree. Blackpaw and Lionpaw ended up dozing off and were awoken the the rush of leaves in the silence. Blackpaw blinked his sore eyes opened and noticed the dogs were gone. "Lionpaw." He nudged the light brown apprentice with his paw trying to wake him up. "Lionpaw, wake up. We need to get home. The dogs are gone." Lionpaw's yellow eyes opened wearily and he looked down at the ground understanding. As they began to climb down, Blackpaw didn't notice that there was a dog sleeping behind a bush.. until it was too late. The dog awake and charged at Lionpaw and Blackpaw.

He awoke to the sounds of fluttering bats overhead and the waterfall crashing softly. Opening his eyes, Blackpaw could tell it was not sunrise yet. He stood on his paws, stretched and left the den quietly to not wake his sleeping den mates. The clan was so quiet at night. The darkness, and slight sound of cats breathing in and out. Blackpaw liked it. It was less chaotic then the liveliness of being an actual clan and working. Blackpaw walked up to the edge of the ledge and stared at the clear waterfall before him.
